Privacy Policy

Wedding Sherpa ("we", "us") is an agentic wedding planner. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your wedding plan is yours, we collect only what the product needs to work, and you can export or erase everything at any time from inside the app.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your name and email address. The free web trial uses an anonymous session with no personal details.
• Your wedding plan. The details you add while planning: partner names, wedding date, region, budget figures, style preferences, vendors, tasks, and messages you approve.
• Guest information you add. Names and RSVP responses of the guests you invite. You are responsible for having a basis to share your guests' details with us; we use them only to run your guest list and RSVP links, never for marketing.
• Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number — we receive only the subscription status needed to activate your plan.
• Usage analytics. We use PostHog to understand how the product is used (for example, that onboarding was completed). Analytics are tied to a pseudonymous identifier, not to your wedding content.

How the AI works with your data

Wedding Sherpa's assistant drafts proposals — vendor enquiries, budget changes, timeline updates — using the plan details you have entered. Drafting is powered by Anthropic's Claude models acting as our processor. Your data is sent to generate your drafts, and is not used to train their models. Nothing is ever sent to a vendor or any third party on your behalf without your explicit approval in the app.

Where your data lives

Your plan is stored locally on your device (so the app works offline) and synced to our servers hosted on Google Cloud in Sydney, Australia. Traffic is encrypted in transit.

What we never do

• We never sell your data.
• We never contact your guests except to serve the RSVP page you share with them.
• We never send anything to a vendor without your recorded approval.

Your rights and controls

From Settings inside the app you can export a complete copy of your data or erase your account and wedding entirely — the erase is immediate and includes synced server data and RSVP links. If you are in the EU/UK, these controls cover your GDPR access and erasure rights; you may also contact us directly for any request.

Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you erase your wedding, the associated server data is deleted. Anonymous trial data that is never claimed by an account may be removed after a period of inactivity.

Children

Wedding Sherpa is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will note it here with a new effective date.
